Update: CyanogenMod 14.1 v480 20161215 – TimeKeep

Hello, all!

Thanks to Dan Pasanen (invisiblek), the time/date bug is fixed. Since Qualcomm chipsets have read-only RTC drivers, there is a need to use TimeKeep to store time delta related to hardware RTC.

If you already have a previous version of CM-14.1 installed, just download the updated ZIP file and flash it. If you are still using stock ROM and want to flash CM, just follow the instructions in the link below:

CyanogenMod for LG G Pad 8.0 (v480)

Happy flashing!

  1. Hi put Superuser on my tablet, and it will not boot now. During the LG life is good boot screen, there is an error that says ‘error: boot certification verify”

    • You don’t need to install another app to get super user access. You just need to enable Developer Options and there will be an option to enable super user access.

To fix your device, try entering recovery mode, wipe and flash CM again. You can enter recovery mode by holding Volume Down + Power together to turn on the device.

      • Thanks, but I can’t get it back into recovery. I can’t get it to boot. And holding the power button plus the volume down button will not boot to recovery… I have booted to recovery for years this way, but this one stuck. As far as I can get is the LG life is good boot screen, there is an error that says ‘error: boot certification verify”

        • Hi! The boot.img of CM is bumped, in other words, it is signed in an special mode to permit preloader to load it. When you tried to install superuser the app need to repack bumped boot.img for patching and leave it unsighned. So this is cause of ‘error: boot certification verify’. CyanogenMod haven’t need of external, outsider SU, because it have one built-in.

          • How would I restore this device? I can not install the kit-kat stock as described in the directions. The LG flash tool kit hangs at 60%, then throws an error telling me the device is not plugged into the usb. I can get the device to show “firmware update” but always shows 0% and never progresses.

          • Blake, can you try with another PC? I’ve tested this today, just to check if the directions were alright, and everything worked fine for me.

          • Wiped everything a d started again by loading the lg drivers again, and that was the trick. It moved past 60%. Good to go, ROM is working well. Thank you for all your help and work!

  2. Hey BLAKE, I´m trying this myself and had that error. The problem is that you didn´t install the LG drivers. You just downloaded them, but you have to actually install it. Now I can´t make flashify work.
